This light eyed beauty has mesmerized millions over the years. She won the title of Miss World at the Miss World pageant that was held in Sun City, South Africa on November 19, 1994. She has acted in several films, and has received two Filmfare Awards. She was also awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India (2009). She has joined hands with several humanitarian organizations, The Eye Bank Association of India and Joint United Nations Programme on AIDS (UNAIDS) being a couple of them. Aishwarya was the first Indian actress to be a jury member at the Cannes Film Festival.
She is a Goodwill Ambassador for the Joint United Nations Programme on AIDS (UNAIDS). In 2003, she was the first Indian actress to be a jury member at the Cannes Film Festival.
