Kerala PSC GK | Articles of Constitution of India
The Articles of the Indian Constitution form the backbone of India's legal and administrative framework. Adopted on 26th November 1949 and enforced from 26th January 1950, the Constitution originally contained 395 Articles divided into 22 Parts and 8 Schedules. Over time, through various amendments, the number has increased.

Each Article outlines specific provisions, responsibilities, and rights relating to the governance of the country. These Articles are grouped into Parts based on themes such as Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles, Union and State Governments, Judiciary, Emergency Provisions, and more.

The Articles are not just legal provisions but reflect the vision of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity that the framers of the Constitution aspired for India. They provide the legal foundation for laws, governance mechanisms, and citizens’ rights.
