Kiki was crowned Miss World on July 29, 1951 at the Miss World pageant hosted in London, UK. She was the first Miss World of the world. She had previously won the title of Miss World Sweden 1951. Kiki wore a bikini for the crowning ritual, due to which she was condemned by the Pope. This led to the ban of bikinis in the pageant in 1952. Even though bikini was reintroduced later on, Kiki remains the only one to have been crowned wearing a bikini.
